In 1991 as a shy, naïve 23 year-old Rae made the life-changing decision to join the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. Her decision was based solely on the fact that she needed to pay rent. Throughout her 18-year career as a Deputy, Rae has encountered some of the county’s most harden criminals in both the men’s and women’s facilities and has many stories, both humorous and tragic, to tell. She is currently working on her autobiography.
Over the past several years, Rae has focused her efforts on building her writing and photography portfolios. She will be retiring soon from the Sheriff’s Department and plans to become a full-time travel writer and photographer. She has contributed content to several travel websites including, Sandiegocitytourist.com, Trazzler.com, and Openairlife.com. She has written articles for California Tour & Travel and Boerbol World magazines and has several short stories published. She also maintains a personal blog regarding her thoughts on life and has her own photography website.
