If you are looking for a compact headlamp that can deliver some of the same features as bigger lights, look no further. I have owned the original Zipka for years now and have loved it. I decided I would upgrade to the Zipka Plus 2 and see how it matched up and performed to the original. The Zipka has always been my go to light when traveling or when I thought that I might be out into the dark. It is small enough to throw in a pack and be there just in case.
The Zipka Plus 2 is even brighter than its predecessor and has more functionality. On the maximum setting the light delivers 50 lumens and at the economic or lowest setting it will run for 140 hours. The light has 5 modes altogether; three in the white and two in the red. The three setting in the white mode are maximum, economic and flashing. The red mode is continuous and flashing.
Having the zip cord the Zipka Plus will attach to the head or anything else that you can wrap the cord around. This comes in handy when needing to light an area that multiple people are using. Another great use could be as a backup light for a bike as either a headlight or as a taillight. I have used this light for evening runs and it stayed put and worked well to see the path as well as to be seen by others.
Petzl has designed a rechargeable battery for the Tikka 2 and Zipka 2 line of headlamps called the CORE. The CORE battery which is a Lithium Ion Polymer rechargeable battery offers an advantage over regular batteries. It is very easy to insert and can be charged via any standard USB charger and will perform better at low temperatures.
