LEBANON, NH. (March 7, 2011) – In conjunction with its shift to more “rocker” skis within its line, Völkl has once again partnered with Gibson Guitars and is again  offering up a custom Les Paul guitar. The guitar is a Les Paul model that was manufactured at Gibson Custom in Nashville, TN and highlights the graphics of Völkl’s popular ‘Katana’ ski, a popular big mountain model featuring their ‘ELP’ rocker technology.

The one-of-a-kind guitar will be auctioned in April with proceeds benefiting the High Fives Non-Profit Foundation. Based in the Tahoe, CA area, High Fives is non-profit organization that helps athletes who have suffered life-altering injuries return to normal life and more specifically, to return to the winter action sports community.

“The collaboration with Gibson is a natural for Völkl,” said Director of Promotions Chris Adams. “Skiing and music go hand and hand – and it’s a great way to highlight our ELP ‘rocker’ technology.”

Adams also said Völkl couldn’t be more proud of the work that High Fives is doing and is honored to support their work by teaming with them on this auction.

The High Fives Non-Profit Foundation will host a silent auction for the guitar in Truckee, CA on April 17, the day after its signature event, “Trains.” Trains is a unique slope style competition to be held at held April 16 at Alpine Meadows, CA. Details on the auction and specs of the guitar will be available shortly at the Völkl and High Fives websites listed below.
